What is a solid cologne?
Think of solid colognes as just a solid form of a perfume or cologne that you know and love. We make them solid for the purpose of being portable and convenient to bring around with you literally anywhere. It has the great smell to keep you fresh and feeling great, minus the weight and bulky size of those glass bottles they traditionally come in.
Why use Alwis & Xavier solid colognes over conventional perfumes/colognes?

What are the ingredients you use?
We keep our solid colognes as natural as possible, using only natural beeswax, sweet almond oil and shea butter as the medium for the fragrance. On top of that, we include Vitamin E oil, so not only are you smelling great, but your skin is moisturised too!
How do I apply a solid cologne?
Applying a solid cologne is easy as 1, 2, 3 and that's a big reason why we at Alwis & Xavier love this format of a cologne. Just click open the tin with your fingers, swipe or scoop out the cologne depending on how much you want to apply, and apply it to the pulse points like the neck, arms and wrists.
The warmth of your skin will help activate the solid cologne and strengthen the scent and its projection, that keeps you smelling great throughout the day.
How long can it last?
Our solid colognes can last generally for 3-5 hours per application. The best part is they're portable so just reapply if you need to!
How should I store it?
Its advisable to keep your solid cologne in a cooler temperature such as indoors. Avoid very moist areas like the bathroom, and keep away from extreme heat and direct sunlight.
What is its shelf life?
Alwis & Xavier solid colognes typically last for over a year as we include a bunch of natural ingredients in them. Be sure to follow the instructions on the best way to store them so they last and perform better.
My cologne has moisture on the top, what is that?
With solid colognes, you may experience some 'sweating' during hotter temperatures but it's nothing to worry about. As our blends consist of different blends of oils, this moisture is basically the oils rising to the surface, and can easily be rubbed and applied to the skin as it is perfectly usable and does not affect the quality of the product.
Why does my cologne have a bit of a brownish colour?
In some of our solid colognes, we use vanilla oils as part of our list of ingredients - that help to scent the solid cologne. Vanilla in itself can darken as it is mixed with certain components. Vanillin discoloration is a 100% natural process and can turn the cologne a lightly brownish colour - but its totally safe to use and doesn't affect the function of the solid cologne.
What is a solid shampoo?
In the same way we have made colognes and perfumes into a solid form, we've done that with shampoo too! This makes them way more portable, spill proof and convenient to bring around. They're an excellent alternative to conventional shampoos in plastic bottles, which are a source of waste in your bathroom - and are way smaller and less bulky.
On top of this, they're free of drying chemicals, parabens, phthalates, silicones, and SLS/SLEs!
Why does my hair feel waxy while using a solid shampoo?
When first using a shampoo bar, you may experience a "waxy" feel to the hair after washing. One thing to keep in mind when making the switch from liquid to bar shampoo is that your hair will need to adjust to the product. This is often referred to as "the purge" or "the waxies" in the shampoo bar community. The good news is that the "waxy feel" is temporary and simply a brief phase on the path to the healthiest hair of your life and after a few washes, oil production should stabilize and build-up should clear, signaling that your hair and scalp are used to this new cleanser format.

Why does my armpit have a rash/irritation while using the deodorant?
Anytime you make a change to the products that you put in or on your skin, there’s a potential for irritation or problems to occur. This remains true with natural deodorant. If you've used deodorants that contained artificial ingredients over the years (like aluminum, triclosan, silica, propylene glycol, and artificial fragrances) your body has slowly become accustomed to these elements over time. That’s why switching to a natural deodorant, for some people with sensitive skin, can cause temporary irritation.
This period of time is called an adjustment or detox period and can last from just a few days to a few weeks. Baking soda, an ingredient commonly found in natural deodorant, can actually help draw out these toxins and bacteria from your underarms, speed up the detox process, and even deodorize as well. While this is a healthy process for your body to undergo, the initial chemical detox mixed with increased sweating may result in a temporary underarm rash. But this short-term adjustment period shouldn't stop you from switching to natural deodorant!
Tips you can take to avoid armpit rash:
1. Start off with a smaller amount and gradually increase in amount and/or frequency. This will help your body adjust to the natural deodorant and its ingredients.
2. You may need to increase the frequency of washing to twice a day or change the soap that you’re using. For extremely sensitive skin, use mild or natural soaps to delicately wash, cleanse, and hydrate the skin.
3. Before your showers and washes, wipe off any left over deodorant balm that may still be on your underarms.
4. Have you ever applied deodorant immediately after shaving and felt the sting, the burn and the inevitable itch? Shaving causes tiny cuts on our pits, so to avoid and prevent underarm irritation, always shave at night and apply deodorant in the morning. Also, remember to shave in the direction of hair growth to minimize inflammation and never shave with a dull blade.
5. If you're still having reactions over a period of weeks, then perhaps your skin reacts a bit more sensitively to essential oils and baking soda than other skin types. Scent-free or baking soda-free deodorants may work better for you.
